据8月3日发表在《Nature Materials》上的论文《Electric-field-induced colour switching in colloidal quantum dot molecules at room temperature》，以色列希伯来大学研究团队开发了一种由两个耦合的半导体纳米晶体组成的“人造分子”系统，该系统可以发出两种不同颜色的光，实现了快速和瞬时的颜色切换。这表明，在纳米尺度上如此快速和高效地切换颜色具有巨大的可能性。
